U.S. Congressman Danny K. Davis
Yesterday, U. S. Congressman Danny K. Davis told reporters that he wants to leave Washington and come home to bring a “level of stability” to Cook County government. Davis says that in “all likelihood” he’ll run for the Cook County board president job now held by Todd Stroger.
Now, I am not on the “we hate Todd Stroger band wagon,” but his public opinion isn’t high right now, thus the real question really isn’t whether or not Davis can beat the current president. Shoot, comedian and WGCI radio personality Tony Sculfield could probably beat Stroger. The question is, can Davis beat Chicago Alderman Toni Preckwinkle and Cook County Circuit Court Clerk Dorothy Brown, both whom are expressing interest in the job.

Danny Davis…..yawn….just what we need, a tired old man who does nothing but pontificate.
Todd is not the brightest, but no worse than anyone else. at least he tries to do some good and look out for the county’s interests more than his own.
No doubt he tries to look out for those close to him by giving them jobs, but so does (and will) everyone else in a position to do so in govt. (Daley/Madigan/Doro Brown/Any Alderman… I’m looking at yooooouuuu!).
Basically it’s a grab for power….. Prekwinkle is a loon/hack, Peraica couldn’t get elected dogcatcher ’cause no one wants him, and no one else is actually capable.
Leave Todd alone and be grateful.
We need to break the cycle of patronage, corruption, nepotism, and back door deals. Either Preckwinckle or Peraica will bring transparency and fresh ideas, save money and help the County move on. More of the same old garbage if we keep Stroger or elect Davis. If you want 10 % of tax dollars to go to pay to play and the same cabal running things then elect the same tired old cabal.
